“If Easter says anything to us today, it says this: You can put truth in a grave, but it won’t stay there.” – Clarence W. Hall
Satan sat with his demons on Saturday night celebrating his profound victory. The sacrifice for our sin, the offering of all eternity to buy back the Father’s beloved creation was laying stone cold dead in a remote tomb in the hill country of the Middle East. It was done. He even heard Jesus cry out the death pole of a rustic, wooden cross, “It is finished.” He missed it. In their own way Jesus’ devoted followers and close friends missed it too. He had told them a number of times He was going to have to die and it would be soon. They didn’t understand so they operated as though He didn’t mean it. Some people live in the darkness of the evil one; they think that Jesus, if He ever did live, died and is in a tomb somewhere. Others are like the disciples that Saturday and think what they heard Him say wasn’t exactly accurate. The rest of us know that not only is He alive and that He totally blew up Satan’s plans, but He reigns forever the Savior of the world and the King of our today, tomorrow, and forever. In His way is eternal life and in Him there is no death. #BeTheEdge
