Almost my entire life I have been involved with non profits. Most of them were ministries. It was easy to think this verse was about giving money to Gods work, Kingdom work. No doubt that certainly fits with this passage. In reality this principle is much bigger them that. This verse recognizes God owns it all. And as the rightful owner He takes what is His and blesses it. How could He not? He is God right? On the other hand how could wicked people ultimately be blessed? Try as they might to make their wealth look good they are incapable of discerning God’s will for their finances and making the world more God centric with it. It’s Just not in their capacity to accomplish without Him. Apart from God (read John 15:5)they can do nothing. Their best efforts produce fakes. This verse clearly talks about what we earn with our efforts to accumulate wealth. Nothing wrong with that. It is more importantly about the heart of those accumulating the wealth. The heart belonging to God produce life, health and growth with their income. All good things. The heart belonging to the wicked produces death. Today allow God to rule in your heart and watch your earnings bring life. #BeTheEdge
