Proverbs 13:12 NIV

“Lively faith is loose and growing. It says “yes” to life and constantly adjusts as well as innovates in response to changes in the world. I believe being a Christian challenges us to be at the forefront of personal and institutional transformation – as Martin Luther King asserted, we can be headlights rather than tail lights in responding to the social and spiritual movements of our time and the future.” We meet Simeon and Anna in Chapter 2 of the Gospel of Luke. While the rest of the planet missed the birth of the Savior of the world, they sat with excited anticipation of His pending arrival. They knew He was coming and were looking forward to it. Others were caught up in their daily pursuits and struggles. They were focused on furthering their agenda and most of them were discouraged by the turmoil of the times. Simeon and Anna were not. They looked to the coming Savior and all that promised for us all. We have to choose our perspective as well. That perspective is dependent on understanding the promises of God and not allowing the issues of the world to cloud them out. Today, prepare for the celebration of the day the Eternal One visited our world by looking with great anticipation of what He has in store for us. #BeTheEdge
