Approximately 2,000 years ago, the crowds cheered Him. They threw their cloaks on the road beneath the feet of the donkey He was riding. That may seem unusual, but at that time, it signified the crowd’s recognition of Him as royalty and expressed their homage. It came at the beginning of one of the most impactful—if not the most impactful—weeks in all of human history. In just a few short days, the tide turned, and this same crowd was screaming and chanting for His death. They wanted Him killed. In that day, at that time, they were part of the majority. They seemed to be on the winning, popular side. But centuries later, we know better. Who names their child Judas, or Pilate, or Ananias? All these years later, we see that Jesus and His followers stood on the side of righteousness, even when the crowd turned. When the tone shifted from honor to hatred, His guys stood firm in their faith in their righteous Savior. Sure, they panicked—even hid—but they never gave in to the dark side. Now, centuries later, the killers and condemners of our Savior are seen for who they truly were: the wicked, or at the very least, pawns in the hands of the wicked. And the disciples? Today, they are known as the fathers of the Church—the body of Christ that has radically transformed this world. Today, stand on the side of righteousness. Stand with Jesus.#BeTheEdge
