Proverbs 14:6 NIV

I have sat in meetings with business leaders or parents who are looking for help. Often in a counseling session I’ve talked with men and women pleading for wisdom. I have always been intrigued by the ones who are desperate for wise counsel, as long as it’s not from the Bible. Oh, they don’t say “don’t use the Bible.” But, it’s not hard to tell by their response that they are looking for something “more practical.” Those people fall into one of two categories. Either they have a disdain for God or the things of God (they should have known better than to seek me out, or they were just that desperate) or they like God fine but when things are really tough, they want “better” answers. They are sadly missing out on God’s great resources. In not looking to God they will never find what they need. There are people with great worldly wisdom who are knowledgeable, but they will miss the greater wisdom of God. Those of us who recognize God as not only wise but the true source of all wisdom are promised access to it by looking to Him in faith and confidence. Today, seek your answers and direction from God who gives freely to those who trust Him. #BeTheEdge

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” James 1:5 NIV
