As some of you read this I am currently speaking to graduating high school students. My talk comes from the story known as The Woman at the Well. A key focus is on the question asked by the woman of Jesus. It was a loaded question full of centuries of animosity, hatred and prejudice. It was also reflective of years of deep and bitter political and religious differences. Her question was about the correct place to worship knowing that as a Jew Jesus should have an immovable position on the answer. She came to her question loaded with the sane, albeit opposition. Jesus being Jesus not only did not take the bait He elevated the interaction to a level where God was waiting to meet the deeper cry for love, acceptance, truth and hope she didn’t even know she wanted. But want it she did. And it changed her life. More than that it changed her entire community. And even more it most certainly changed her eternity. The person Solomon introduces is to in this verse is all around us in our journey today. Like the woman they have deep hurt and pain. There is brokenness in their soul and they pursue quarrels in an attempt to feel right, justified in their arrogant insecurities. Jesus offers them, often through us, the same healing He gave the woman in Samaria. Today elevate the conversation to the throne room of the Almighty. #BeTheEdge
