Proverbs 20:24 NIV

God has a way of making the verse I share each morning very relevant to my life at that very moment. For a current example I just came through one of the most life altering seasons of my life. Ready to settle into my new normal and blast out of the house this morning taking “The Edge” ministry to our next level. That will still happen, however in a slightly different way than I had planned. You read that right, “I planned”. You see I started writing this devotion sitting in a bed in the ER of our local hospital. Without all kinds of boring details and violating HIPPA, suffice it to say my foot is big, red and hot. I’m going to spend the next few days in this 5 star accommodation on the 5th floor. I don’t find comfort in this verse because I tend to have no idea what God is up to in my life. I also don’t find comfort in being relatively out of control of my plans. But, I find overwhelming comfort in knowing God is directing my steps. I would never have planned them the way He does nor would I have anticipated how He would direct them. As completely out of control as things have appeared lately it is almost amusing to ponder what He is up to. Yeah, almost. I’m confident it will be good. As friends express concern and even sadness about circumstances in our journey, it is great to be able to honestly respond, “I can’t wait to see how God plans to redeem this one”. Today find rest in trusting your steps to the sovereign, redeemer you serve. #BeTheEdge
