Proverbs 21:1 NASB

One of my degrees is in Political Science. I have always loved the strategy and nuance of politics. I read an article yesterday that said, “Few citizens actually matter much to politicians. Non-voters don’t matter. Voters in Gerrymandered districts don’t matter. In one-third of the country, Independents don’t matter in the primary elections.  Non “swing states” don’t matter in Presidential elections. So, who really matters? Swing state registered Republican and Democratic primary voters, assuming their district isn’t Gerrymandered.” Thinking that through and discussing it with politically minded friends would have fascinated me in the past. Not anymore. Politics has become nasty. It actually became that way a long time ago, but it has become truly ugly at least on a national level more than ever before in recent years. It can be depressing. That is until we grasp the truth of this verse from Proverbs. No matter who you vote for or what policies you embrace, God’s Word tells us that He can change or establish directions for our leaders when He so chooses. Why He doesn’t at times baffles me. But like so often with God, I’m called to trust and learn during all times. Today, trust God to be who He is and watch Him accomplish His plans, regardless. #BeTheEdge
