Proverbs 22:12 NIV

I find great comfort in this verse. It offers a reassuring promise for those of us striving to remain on the path of sound biblical teaching. God keeps watch over knowledge, which finds its foundation in Him. Solomon not only reveals that God is monitoring what is proclaimed as knowledge, but also that He actively confuses and frustrates those who would misrepresent His truth. I often pray that anyone who attempts to speak into my grandchildren’s lives—yet does not represent God’s truth—would be confused and unable to form a coherent, deceptive thought. You might consider joining me in praying the same for your loved ones. There is no shortage of deceivers who pretend to be knowledgeable. Stephen Hawking, for example, did not believe in God. He was an outspoken atheist, claiming there was no God, no creator, and no one directing the universe. He famously said he believed the brain was like a computer that simply shuts off at death—no afterlife, no heaven. He has since discovered just how wrong he was. IQ is not the measure of true knowledge. There’s no doubt Hawking was intelligent. I suspect that becoming severely disabled at the age of 21 may have contributed to a bitter and distorted view of God. I would never presume to challenge his intellect, but God’s truth stands for all eternity. By the way, God’s IQ is 1 followed by an infinite number of zeroes—far beyond Hawking’s reported 160. Today, seek your knowledge from God. #BeTheEdge
