Proverbs 2:3 NIV

‬I’m sure you’ve heard someone use the expression ‘out of the mouth of babes’. “This expression is a shortening and revision of expressions in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. In Psalms 8:2, God ordains strength out of the mouth of babes and sucklings; in Matthew 21:16, praise comes from this source. Later generations changed strength and praise to wisdom”. (Dictionary.Com) Dr. Seuss is credited with saying, “Sometimes wisdom comes from the strangest places.” And Author Rick Riordan once wrote, “sometimes wisdom came from the strangest places, even from giant teenaged goldfish.” I’m not entirely sure what that means. The point is that if we listen and look we can find valuable nuggets of Gods wisdom in places we might otherwise have missed. For instance, Caiaphas advised the Jews during what we refer to as Holy Week that it would be expedient that one man should die for the people. He had no idea just how right he was. He intended to have Jesus crucified so that the uprising would end and Rome wouldn’t punish the entire Jewish nation. However the crucifixion and subsequent resurrection of Jesus rescued the world. Caiaphas missed the full extent of the wisdom of his counsel. This Good Friday as we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of our savior on a cross we recognize the truth of his words, it was eternally expedient for Jesus to die for all the world. Today see Gods phenomenal wisdom in His sacrifice and victory this Easter weekend. #BeTheEdge
