Proverbs 23:23 NIV

Here is something to be thankful for. These are the top 10 richest people in the world as of Nov. 18, 2023, (5 days ago): Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Larry Ellison, Steve Ballmer, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett, Sergey Brin. These folks own islands, yachts, property around the globe, security teams and on and on and on. There is no thing they cannot buy. However, the beauty of being God’s children is that we are His heirs. Unlike these men’s children we already have the things of the greatest eternal value. We are to treasure them and not trade them for anything the world or Satan offers. On a mountain in the Middle East we watched Satan try and get Jesus to sell out on what His Father had for Him. Satan offered possessions, property, power and other things he hoped Jesus would trade for His Fathers Kingdom gifts. He wouldn’t. We have the same temptations. God’s truth with His wisdom, instruction and insight are beyond worldly value. The salvation that He offers as well was actually bought for us at the cost of His Sons life. None of those men listed at the beginning of this devotion can buy any of those things. I suspect a couple of them probably believe they can. They can’t but we all are offered them for free. That is definitely something to be thankful for. Today give thanks for these amazing gifts from your Heavenly Father. #BeTheEdge
