Proverbs 24:11 NASB

There are amazing stories of what people have done to rescue someone whose life is in danger. We have all heard stories of first responders running into danger while the rest of us, naturally, flee it. They forsake their own safety to rescue others from danger.  When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, I often think how cool that was for his grieving sisters and friends but what a drag for him. I mean he died. That couldn’t have been fun, but he found himself in the presence of God and all the saints. How incredibly cool. But then he was brought back to earth and all the hassles of life and aging only to go through death again. Jesus was living in heaven from the beginning of eternity. Sitting with His Father, ruling over all of His creation. He willingly left that to come here, live as a baby, a child, a teenager and ultimately as a hated prophet who was mocked, beaten, and nailed to a tree. He came that first Christmas for us – you, me and the rest of the inhabitants of the planet. He ran into the battle. His rescue story continues. What will you do to intercept those who are missing His story? Today, bring Christmas alive – be a rescuer. #BeTheEdge
