Context tells us that Satan looks for opportunities to slip into the struggles of the righteous follower of God when they are down. Physical illness and emotional struggles can leave the believer vulnerable to his attacks. In those circumstances we can get down and doubt or weariness add to the burden of standing strong in the Lord. In the last 24 hours I’ve have been in conversations involving friends and committed believers who are facing divorce, mental health battles, suicide and business defeats. Battles that make questioning and shortening of perspective a real attack point for the evil one. We can have a tendency to forget who has our back. With the correct perspective satan has no power no matter how intense our struggle and need becomes. I have found great comfort in these truths: first, In my weakness He is strong. Nothing in that truth about His strength in my perceived strength. Perhaps the writer realized I ignorantly forgot how desperate I am for His strength at all times. I tend to look to His strength only when I’m getting beat down. The second is this quote by Robert Murray M’Cheyne, “If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me”. BOOM!! Today own that! #BeTheEdge
“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 NIV
