Kids are notorious for accidentally hitting their little playmates with objects thrown, shot or otherwise flung in uncontrolled directions. The person in this verse is kind of like that only with much more dangerous objects. Unbelievably this person wants others to believe they weren’t seriously dangerous. The next verse tells us they try to excuse their maniacally dangerous behavior as kidding around. In Solomon’s day they would do battle using darts with a material or substance on the tip that would carry fire. Its intended purpose was to catch fire to whatever it hit. If that was a barn or home its goal was to burn it to the ground. If it was a person its goal would be a painful, burning death. The unsaved have a tendency to live in such a way that those around them join in sharing the consequences of their reckless lifestyle. When someone else is hurt by their careless, dangerous behavior it is excused as an accident or I was just “messing around”. They are sorry and hope you are ok. These are very dangerous people in our lives. Stay clear of these people and walk with others who have your best interests at heart and be that person for those you are with as well. Today consider who is in your journey and choose wisely. #BeTheEdge
