I had a friend rant at me today about how everyone who works in the current presidential administration is a corrupt low life (those were the nicest words they said), not deserving of any trust or respect. He added that anyone who supports any of them are the same. I started to respond about that being a pretty broad swipe at a lot of people, and that it could not possibly be completely, true no matter which side you are on. Instead, I quickly changed the subject to a non-controversial topic that we could both enjoy discussing. It took a lot to let what felt like a personal attack go. There is no shortage of topics and more importantly, people that will always threaten to divide us from one another. Abortion, politics, sports rivalries, and even favorite restaurants are all potential land mines. Avoiding being sucked into the battle takes a lot of self control and supernatural intervention. Today, seek peace and pursue it with your whole being. God will be the one honored and everyone will be the winners. #BeTheEdge
