Proverbs 27:15 NIV

I haven’t skipped doing this devotion in many years. I’m working systematically through Proverbs. It is this verse’s turn. I was dreading it. This goes hand in hand with 27:16. However, staying with the discipline we will look at that one next month. It was not at all uncommon that a strong all day rain on the typical middle eastern roof would produce leaks. The constant dripping of those leaks would drive a person to vacate the premises. It has the same impact on a persons spirit when a spouse, specifically a wife in this example, continually whines, complains and belly aches. However, men are very capable of the same behavior. These days an employee can do the same thing to those around them. It is no surprise that Forbes reports 57% of people leave or want to leave their job because of having to be around toxic, whiny, constantly complaining people. This should never be the description of a follower of Christ. One of The Edge Ministry Biblical Worldview Hallmarks is “Serve”. It is lived out by, “…seeing and serving others the way that Christ did.” There is no place in that discipline for whiny complainers. Today Serve God and others with a spirit and presence that allows God to live through us. #BeTheEdge
