Proverbs 2:8 NASB

The other day I read a story of an elementary school janitor who had comforted a student who was autistic. It went viral for the very cool act of kindness that it was. The article said “Kenlee Bellew-Shaw, a fourth grader at Melba Passmore Elementary School, was having a rough day last week when a custodian affectionately called ‘Ms. Esther’ by the students took notice… Esther spoke to Kenlee in a soft voice and gently patted her back to provide a ‘quiet interaction to take her focus away from the craziness of the cafeteria…She always greets my daughter with kind words and a hug which is so special to her,’ she said.” I love this story for so many reasons but especially for two. One, it illustrates how God treats us. He came down to comfort us in the midst of chaos and confusion. He offers calm to our spirit. He gets down on the floor or in the dirt or into the dark with us and rescues and preserves our story. Two, He calls us to do the same for others. Today, imitate God’s love toward others; be like Ms. Esther. #BeTheEdge

“…and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.” Ephesians‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭NASB
