I have to admit when I first saw todays passage it did not excite me. I thought it wasn’t really relevant to many people. I mean really, how many of us are in the lending business and even for those that are, how many are taking advantage of someone because they are poor? Sure, payday loan places seem pretty awful for the most part, but I suspect very few of us own one of those. Most business people I know treat everyone pretty much the same regardless of their financial situation and they are fair. Here is our truth from this verse. Anything that we get through taking advantage of another will eventually be lost by us and given to someone who will know how to bless others with it. You may have witnessed someone take credit for another’s work and is rewarded with a better position or a bonus or at least accolades. Many times their fraud was eventually discovered and they were unable to enjoy or benefit from the reward for long before it escaped them. I witnessed a time when a partner stole a company and a product behind the back of another. Noncompete agreements come from the awareness of this issue. Even ministries and churches have seen a leader undermined by a trusted staff member. Never do those people or companies truly prosper. Today live honestly, above board and loyally. #BeTheEdge
