Proverbs 3:6 NIV

“I never saw that coming. Not in a million years would I have put that on the list of things that could possibly hit my life”.  I was listening to a close friend share about his wife disappearing one day with no warning only to resurface months later across the globe with another man. The future is a very tough thing (read ‘impossible’) to know or predict. Movies are made about it, fortune tellers scam and entertain about it, friends claim to even at times know it but no one truly knows the future. Well, one person does. God not only knows the future He holds your’s securely in His hands. When Solomon tells us to trust God alone with our future and the result will be a straight path, it is based on the certainty that, not only does God know the future, He is already there. God, as the creator of time, stands above the constraints of temporal concepts like today, yesterday and tomorrow. It is all now to the one who sits outside of what holds us captive. As my friend struggles with his new normal for today he understands that tomorrows normal is not in the hands of others. It’s not even completely in his. But, he seeks rest in the certainty that the one true God, who loves him completely, is in charge of His future into eternity. Today, find your confidence in the God of all your tomorrows. #BeTheEdge
