I used to read promises like this and think, “That would be nice.” However, it would never really grip my soul that this was a truth that I could grab onto and live in. Because much of the love we encounter during our lifetime is conditional in nature, I have been quick to assume conditions on God’s promises. Certainly some promises involve our participation. For instance God offers eternal life – what an amazing promise, but we do have to respond to and receive His free gift. He also offers us a way to escape temptation (1 Cor 10:13) but it does require us taking advantage of the “way out” that He offers. Here we see that if we walk in God’s truth He guarantees (repeat that – God guarantees) a clear path. Again, I want to take a second and ponder what that concept means when God Himself gives you a guarantee. Is there anything more assured than a guarantee from God Himself? Scan the promises of God in His word sometime. Today, reflect on Who is making those promises, and then go conquer your world, or at least conquer today. #BeTheEdge
