Proverbs 7:5 NASB

I’m dieting. Well it is only a week into the new year but it’s a tradition, right? I use a lot of tricks to motivate myself to stay on it. I tell myself I will hit my goal in 90 days and then I can ease off. I look at the scale and shudder. I even remove every sweet and carb from the house, but needless to say, by the start of next year I’m in deep need of dieting again. None of my motivations seem to be sufficient. They all depend on operating in my own strength. At the heart of God’s plan for our lives is that we are always growing to be more like His Son. What do you turn to for strength and power in order to accomplish that? If what you rely on is based on your own strength it will not happen. It’s not really a lack of desire, it’s just that supernatural spiritual change takes supernatural spiritual power. God’s word employed by the power of His Spirit is the answer to spiritual growth in our life – the only answer. Today, allow the truth of His word motivate you, and let the presence and power of His Spirit change you. Let’s not find ourselves in the same place next year, or next month, or even tomorrow. #BeTheEdge
