Proverbs 7:8 NIV

It has been implied, even by me at times, that Solomon describes this young man in such a way that he can hardly be blamed for getting caught in this sin. That is certainly not the case. When we sin, scripture makes it clear that we are without excuse. He was hanging around her corner as opposed to being out in the wide lane like everyone else. He kept near her corner knowing she would appear and knowing what she was. He hung out where he could watch for her without others seeing him. He knew exactly what he was up to and why. On occasion I  have watched friends flirt around the edges of sin. I’ve even discussed the dangers with them only to be assured they had no intention of crossing ”that line”. I have later walked with some of them through the broken pieces of their journey as they sought healing and restoration from God. Others never returned after their fall. The old counsel to kids in relation to avoiding potential sin and it’s power was when in doubt, don’t. God’s Spirit is our early warning system. Today listen to His voice and stay far away from the house on the corner. #BeTheEdge
