Proverbs 10:5 NASB

“He who gathers in summer is a son who acts wisely, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who acts shamefully.” Proverbs 10:5 NASB

We talk about seasons of life. Solomon in the Book of Ecclesiastes tells us there is a time for everything and everything for its time, or something like that. The point being, that God built a rhythm to everything, especially our lives. Social psychologists like to refer to there being either four or five seasons to our lives. Single, married, parenting, and empty nesting are their basic four. I have counseled a number of business and ministry leaders, sharing that they at times need to adjust their life to accommodate certain seasons in their leadership journey. Sometimes based on circumstances in their life – an unexpected death, health challenge, or even a staff change – and sometimes based on circumstances the world or industry throw at them. Whatever the cause, God has built seasons into every part of His creation and adapting to them is critical to living out His story in your life. Recently, a friend shared that she discovered that for the past few years she had gradually moved away from her God-focus in life and found herself looking up, realizing she didn’t know where she was, and more importantly, where she was supposed to be. She is now taking time out to refocus on God and His plan for her journey. Hopefully you are not at that place. Maybe you are. Either way, we all can benefit from being sure we know what season we are in and are functioning most effectively within that season. Today, take a moment and reflect on where God has you and if realignment is necessary, realign. #BeTheEdge
