Proverbs 24:10 NIV

“If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!”

I recently had a vigorous conversation with a very close friend about the use of the words problem and challenge as a believer. He felt that identifying and dealing with a person’s problems is how we counsel. I think that from a Kingdom perspective, we are dealing with challenges. Using the word problem creates victims, while challenges create warriors. It was fun and invigorating but hardly vital to our counseling or eternity. In reality, either term works. Where we strongly agree is that God offers His Spirit and power in facing whatever it is. The bottom line is that neither a problem or challenge is able to defeat us when we walk in intimacy with God. We know that some things may even kill us, but as followers, that is the ultimate win. Satan exists to kill, steal, and destroy. In God’s sovereign rule, all three of those can be redeemed for His glory. That is truly an overwhelming thought to consider. We are told that in our weakness, God’s strength can flow. In our strength, we tend to trust in ourselves. When battling we are acutely aware of our desperate need for Him. Today, let Him provide the measure of strength your life requires. #BeTheEdge
