Proverbs 4:16 NIV

“For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.”

I have done a pretty good job of removing this kind of person from not only my inner circle, but also from regular encounters as much as possible. However, depending on where you work and possibly what your particular role is there—or if you’re in school—it can be much harder to control who plays a regular role in your daily journey. Solomon is talking about people with bad intentions and dark hearts in this portion of his writing. Occasionally, I see these people on the news in certain roles in both politics and business. Some even seem to have a target on our children. The brokenness, sadness, and potential abuse that must have occurred in their journey to create such a dark and destructive nature is almost beyond imagination. This reality feeds into our understanding of who Satan is. He exists to kill, steal, and destroy—nothing else. Very often, he does that through people who allow him access to their hearts and minds in every area of life. That is where these people come from. The counsel is clear: avoid them, steer clear, and walk cleanly in the path God has laid out for us. Today, avoid evil and pursue God. #BeTheEdge

“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 10:12 NIV
