Proverbs 10:7 NASB

I lost a good friend the other day. More significantly the world lost an instrument of love, peace and encouragement, and we are in desperate need of more, not less of those. It made me ponder a very sobering question, “Will the world be enhanced or diminished by my death?” I have to believe someone will miss me, but the deeper question is does my life add light in the darkness, salt to the flavor of the lives I encounter, or am I basically just here. The existentialist’s question, ‘why am I here?’ can remind us that we are to bless those we encounter daily in the same way Jesus blessed every life He encountered. His blessings were transformative and powerful. Are ours? We are not to be remembered for our sake. The memory of Jesus continues to change the world and bring people to eternal connection with His Father. How we interact with others should bring to mind, when we are gone, the God we served. Today, bless those you encounter with the Spirit of Jesus in you; that will create memories that last and truly matter.
