Proverbs 1:1 NASB

I’m a pretty prolific reader. I peruse 4 newspapers and read at least 50 pages from a book, daily. Usually more. I have my favorite authors and pretty much read everything they write as soon as it’s published. Same with newspaper bylines and magazine articles. Biblically, anything by Paul or one of the disciples is always good, too. Actually, if it’s in the Bible, it’s all perfect. That being said, as we start the new year, I would like to recommend that you read everything by King Solomon, the first-born son of King David. Talk about writing from a place of knowledge and understanding of your subject. In the book of Proverbs, also known as “The Book of Wisdom,” we find pretty much the wisest man who ever lived (other than Jesus) sharing insights into God’s mind for our daily living. The 31 chapters in Proverbs encourages us to see the correlation between the days of most months and the layout of the book as a great opportunity to start our day with great wisdom. We need to choose what fills our minds, carefully knowing that what we think about, we become (Proverbs 23:7). This is an obvious and great truth that encourages us to begin each day with Solomon’s wisdom and God’s truth. Today, set a plan to start your day by being transformed by God’s truth. #BeTheEdge
