Proverbs 11:28 NIV

The stock market had its worst week all year last week and this week is not doing all that well either. I just heard that on the news. Thankfully my survival is not dependent on the markets. Someone whose is might find life a little unsettled at the moment. I once pondered what a person does when they win a huge lottery prize. Banks insure only a small portion of the total. Markets are volatile. Gold and silver are impossible to eat if everything collapses. I’ve probably just convinced you that I have no idea what the wealthy do to preserve their wealth. This is not an anti-wealth verse. By most accounts Solomon was wealthier than Bezos, Gates and Musk combined. This is about where we place our trust. When an airplane is falling from the sky no amount of wealth can stop it. When the stage four cancer is beating all treatments money can only offer so much help. Because the righteous grow spiritually they produce the fruit of the spirit. Their lives reflect abundance of joy and peace. Both things that money can’t buy. All the fruits of the Spirit defy the financial markets when they swing up or down. His blessings are a free gift to those who live in His righteousness. Today accept God’s blessings with grace and thrive. #BeTheEdge

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬
