Proverbs 12:10 NIV

There is nothing that exists that God doesn’t use to teach us about Himself and us as His creation. In this verse He uses animals, work animals to be sure. This verse is not about hunting although I once had a young lady try to convince me it was and that it told us hunting was wrong. It’s also not necessarily about our pets although the implication of taking care of and being kind to them can be implied. This verse is meant to again compare the God follower with the heathen. God’s followers are aware that in the scriptures we are encouraged, actually required throughout Exodus and Deuteronomy, to have concern for and to look after our animals. The wicked may not know these biblical truths but they certainly do not abide by them. Throughout scripture we see that  God’s followers obey His teaching in all areas of life from our animals to our neighbors and everything in between. The God follower acts according to the full counsel of God while the wicked does what is right in his own eyes. The result is seen in the outcome. Healthy live stock bring great results, battered and abused animals don’t. Today follow God’s counsel in both the big and small areas of your story knowing that what concerns God cannot possibly be a small matter. #BeTheEdge
