Proverbs 12:27 NASB

I am currently leading a ministry called “The Edge.” The focus of this ministry is helping Christian business leaders and influencers impact their work environment with their faith. In working with current “The Edge” companies, one of the qualities I consistently find is that the men and women leading these companies are hard workers. They do not take their position of leadership as an excuse to coast or relax and let others work hard. This verse from Proverbs tells us that diligence is a gift. Solomon reminds us here that the lazy and slothful person finds that what they want eludes them and slips out of their grasp. They don’t give their full effort and as a result they don’t realize the full benefit. Leaders who desire that their relationship with God permeate their work environment understand that those around them are watching. Diligence in effort reflects the excellence of their Creator. Today, be an example of how God built us to function, and utilize the gifts He gave each of us for His glory.
