Proverbs 13:12 NASB

Waiting can be difficult – whether it is for good news or bad, we can find our patience tested. I’m a pretty much move and make it happen guy – if it’s within my ability to make something happen, I see no reason to wait. God is so different. Both Simeon and Anna had been waiting for a long time, I mean a seriously long time, for a glimpse of God’s salvation. They knew He was coming. They understood the scriptures and had even been given an assurance from God, Himself, that the Savior was coming. Simeon was old and about to die, but God guaranteed he would die in peace after seeing the Savior. Anna was an 84-year-old widow waiting for fulfillment of the same promise. At 8 days old, Jesus arrived at the temple and the encounter happened. Read it in Luke 2:21-38 – it’s very cool. I don’t know what you’re waiting on God for; for me it’s the redemption of some close loved ones. But God is faithful and has a reason for His delay. Today, learn to trust, and rather than worry, learn excited anticipation as you wait for the King and see what He has planned to do all along.
