Proverbs 13:14 NIV

I was on my way to a clinic this morning to get tested for Covid and the flu. Yep, it was a rough night. On the way I was listening to my pastor on the radio. He started talking about idols. I was very comfortable in the knowledge that I have never bowed before a brazen statue or offered incense to a false God. However, he very quickly began reminding me that anything that takes the place of Jesus in my life, at any time, is an idol. Very quickly I realized how many things in my journey I have allowed l, at times, to come before Him. The point of this is not the idols message but rather my pastor speaking wisdom and truth into my journey. It made me reflect on who those people are in my life. An hour on the phone with Bill from Oregon has the same effect. I reflected for days on what he shared. Lunch or breakfast with Godly men has the same impact in building life into my journey. Over the decades I’ve needed these people. We all need these voices of wisdom speaking life and opening our eyes to the subtle snares of sin and death. Today look for and listen closely to the wise voices God has blessed you with. Oh and I’m quarantined. #BeTheEdge
