Proverbs 13:16 NIV

There is that word ‘prudent’ again from yesterdays verse. As a reminder the dictionary tells us that prudent people are marked by “acting with or showing care and thought for the future.” It seems Solomon really values the prudent person. That is the one who understands delayed gratification or at least have a realization that how and why we behave certain ways will directly impact our life tomorrow even more than today. This verse also reminds us that wise people operate with the understanding that Godly wisdom and knowledge brings about much better decisions and results than operating off of their own uninformed opinions and guesswork. Scripture tells us to study to show ourselves approved. This is the way to gain the knowledge, wisdom and insight that brings about the results a follower of God is looking for.
