Proverbs 13:25 NASB

For me it literally felt like a hunger that I could not define, but physical, nevertheless. As a 15-year-old, I remember eating a lot of different things to satisfy that hunger I felt. I know most 15-year-old boys eat like they have a hollow leg, but for me it was more than that. I ate 3 or 4 Whoppers. Sometimes I’d eat a dozen cream filled Krispy Kreme doughnuts. I’d get full, very full, but still had this grinding sensation of hunger in my very soul. When I heard the Gospel at a youth conference over Christmas break it was like someone offered me a meal that instantly satisfied my hunger. This is not an allegory, although it might sound like one. This was real. The soul without its Creator is always craving something. Money, possessions, sexual pleasure, stature, or (literally) food, these are all examples of the appetites that we are driven by. When Christ enters our story, He meets our hunger. It is true that Satan will still tempt us in those areas, but with God’s presence we have the True Source to satisfy all our desires in Him. Today, feast on the Bread of Life and allow Him to meet your needs and wants.

“Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.” John 6:35 NASB
