Doesn’t that sound wonderful? Especially coming right after reading how the alternative lifestyle will kill you. Listening to God and living by His truth in this verse sounds an awful lot like Jesus from a few thousand years later. He tells us that His way is easy and His burden is light. I must admit I know very few people who live consistently that way, including myself. A light burden might seem to imply no problems, hardships, or difficulty, but it doesn’t. What it tells us as His followers is that He will lift the load and carry it for us. A couple of years ago, I had a car accident. I could not walk because of muscle pain immediately afterward. My son Kevin lifted my 180-pound body and carried me around. He carried me to the bathroom and back, as well as anywhere else I needed to go. He did it without embarrassing me or making me feel like a nuisance. Quite literally, He fleshed out this biblical truth in my life. He did this again when I broke my leg. God stands ready to carry us in those hard times as well. Today, find your peace and rest in Him. #BeTheEdge
