As you read this I was supposed to be on my way to Emory for the 4 week follow up from my ankle surgery. It just got moved to next week. The plan was today they would remove the sutures and see how the incisions are healing. Interestingly they will declare good progress (hopefully) or not. The interesting part is that we will have no idea how the surgery went. It will be at least another two weeks until they take the first X-rays since my surgery to determine if the bone fusion is healing and working. In the same way we can clearly see the work of good or evil people as they live out their lives. What we cannot see is the condition of their hearts. Over the years I have noticed that many people who fight hardest and talk loudest against the person of God are typically the closest to surrendering their lives to Him. God’s work very often begins deep in a persons spirit before we ever witness an out growing of that work in transforming a life. My incisions can be healing poorly while the bone is healing beautifully. One reason God tells us to be slow to judge others is because we don’t have spiritual X-ray vision. God knows today if my bone is healing. He actually knew before the surgery how it was going to do. We don’t have that ability. Today allow Gods X-ray vision to observe what is happening in others while we watch expectantly as He works. #BeTheEdge
