Proverbs 15:23 NASB

During a recent rough time in my journey, I have found myself out for meals or in phone conversations with long-time friends. Invariably, the conversation turns to what is going on in my life, and how did it get to this point. Usually out of respect for the other parties I avoid going into the details. Regardless of my evasiveness, the friend easily discerns enough to realize the pain and frustration my family and I are experiencing. Quickly the conversation moves into a time of great encouragement coupled with some powerfully deep and wise counsel. Words of insight and direction which catch me off guard in their frankness and boldness. Each time upon leaving and later pondering I found peace restored to my soul, and joy in my spirit that I desperately needed and was struggling to find. Today when prompted, speak love, peace, and truth to a friend. You never know how God will use it.
