Proverbs 15:28 NASB

I’ve stopped listening to the people with the answer or solution to our social and political issues. I’m pretty sure the answers are not as simple as most want to believe. Oh, I don’t blame anyone, in fact, I love a quick fix as much as the next person. We feel that once we have a solution, we can relax and get about our business. When I take my car to Harold and his team of mechanics, I love when they diagnose the issue with my car instantly and fix it expeditiously. My doctors seldom have the same speed with their solutions. The lesson: there is a huge difference between an object and an organism. Social challenges involve an almost infinite number of people who come with an almost infinite number of experiences, personality types, and genetics. As a counseling psychology grad student, I came to the conclusion that with all the different counseling theories to choose from, I was a bit eclectic – which may be a cop out, but one with a major leaning. I’m primarily and existentialist with hope. I believe everyone is chasing the answer to ‘the big three’ – who am I, why am I here, and where am I going. Only, unlike the purist, I believe there is an answer to those questions. Ultimately, God is the answer. Beginning there, we go in a variety of unique directions. No two are alike. So, to believe you have the answer, the post or meme, to solve everyone’s journey is not only arrogant, it’s a deceptive lie. Today, ponder the big questions and allow others to find their answer in the presence of God. #BeTheEdge
