Proverbs 17:6 NIV

It is a true statement that God has no grandchildren. No one enters His kingdom because their parent was a follower of Christ. However, one of the greatest gifts God’s people offer the world is raising children in a godly environment that encourages them to pursue a personal relationship with Him at the earliest possible moment. Generation after generation of faithful followers produces the strength and foundation on which the kingdom of God can flourish. Those who come to Christ out of godless home situations are no less loved or valuable to the kingdom of God. But even they benefit from being around those who have established generational families of faith. The passage about training up a child in the way they should go, also found in this book, is not a promise but certainly an indication of the opportunity created for children from godly families to recognize and respond to God’s call on their lives. As a grandfather, I can confirm there is nothing on this planet that blesses me more than little people who feel a connection to me that is inherent, unseen, supernatural, and comforting. As a grandparent, I have altered some of the things I do and places I go to be more engaged with my grandchildren and to offer them, hopefully, a clear picture of what it means to be a follower of Christ. Today, think generationally in God’s kingdom. #BeTheEdge
