Proverbs 19:22 NASB

Can I just tell you that every time I read this proverb, which is full of great truth, this one line always causes me to pause, consider, smile, and at times even laugh for joy.  How can we ever not long for more kindness in our lives? Truly, if you remove politics, religion (not Jesus), and all the other disagreeable topics and issues that will surly pass away, and we all focus on kindness this world would elicit the best emotional response from even the most cantankerous person (I think I know him!). I believe living a kind life produces this:

“To laugh often and much;

to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends.

To appreciate beauty;

to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson
