Proverbs 20:9 NASB

The simple answer is, no one. A fact of all human history is that no one is able to cleanse their own sin. One of the causes of the abuse we see of drugs, alcohol, and other things is the vain attempt of mankind for eons to try and dull the pain of guilt. Because of our fallen nature we are all broken at our core. We are, as scripture tells us, all sinners in need of a Savior. The deep truth is that if there were any way to rid ourselves of the scars and guilt of sin, God would never have had to allow the miserable wretched death visited upon His sinless Son. But the reality was, we were all lost in our sin and in desperate need of a Savior. The only way to save us was Jesus. Today reflect on that great gift, and if you never received it, do it now. If you have received it, renew it now.

“You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.” 1 John 3:5 NASB
