Proverbs 2:1 NIV

Receive, listen to and accept are the words most often translated from the word translated here as accept. “Store up” means exact;y what we think it does. I picture the lessons about squirrels storing up nuts for the winter months. Those times when the nuts are no longer plentiful on trees or piling up on the ground. We have seasons in life where things seem to be going well and God’s truths pour forth from all directions. We may be at a sweet place in our personal time with the Lord, in church or in connection with our Kingdom friends. Beautiful. Receive, accept, listen to and store up all you can get while you can get it. There is always a time coming when you will need to dip into that reservoir of Truth to sustain and guide you. You will need to know it when you don’t see it or feel it at that moment. Notice it does not say to horde. Part of our receiving is to share. Further down in this chapter we are told that as we live this way we will discover wisdom, knowledge and truth. In other words, God Himself. What more could we possibly need during the lean and difficult times in life. In a conversation with a long time brother in Christ yesterday we reflected on the condition of this fallen broken world and it’s effect on every life. Today prepare for its impact on you and let it find you filled with the knowledge and presence of God. #BeTheEdge
