There are a lot of sources offering wisdom these days. C.S. Lewis is quoted as once saying there are millions of roads to different places but only one to the truth. In this chapter Solomon is encouraging us to pursue wisdom, truth, instruction and a variety of other ways to gain knowledge of God, essentially to pursue God, and we will find everything we are truly looking for whether we know it or not. It’s a great challenge. Other sources claiming true wisdom can be very enticing. If it were not so, alternatives to God’s truth would not be thriving in every corner of the planet. It has been said that the most dangerous lie is 99% truth. The evil one and his followers know that and use it. New Age nature worship can look and feel beautiful and compassionate until we read Roman’s caution to worship the creator not His creation. The beauty of God’s wisdom is multifaceted but I especially like this promise of a pleasant soul. Who couldn’t use that in these troubling times? I certainly can. Today pursue God’s wisdom and enjoy the peace that it brings. #BeTheEdge
