Proverbs 21:12 NIV

There is an implied truth below the surface of this passage. The believer sees the wickedness in the heart of the lost but looks for opportunities to help them discover the truth of God’s love. He also makes this determination in light of God’s coming judgment. The good man sees the prosperity and worldly successes of some of the lost but knows from a biblical understanding that it will all end up empty. That is disheartening to the believer. The original language speaks of the righteous one and then adds “but God”. This helps us understand that the verse is clarifying our understanding of the things to come and God’s ultimate coming judgement ‬on the wicked, here on Earth perhaps but in eternity for certain. That can be a bit of a mind twister. The main point is to understand that with a knowledge of what is to come for the lost we are to have the Savior’s sense of urgency to help them see the truth. We are uniquely situated durning this season to represent that child in the manger and more essentially the savior on the cross to the lost on the path to ultimate destruction before it’s too late. Today look for opportunities to be light in the world of darkness. #BeTheEdge
