Proverbs 21:8 NASB

“In 500 BC, priests of ancient India would suss out thieves by sooting the tails of donkeys and putting them in dark tents. The suspected thieves were advised to enter the tent and pull the tail of the donkey. If the donkey brayed, the accused’s guilt would be confirmed. If the accused left the tent with clean hands free of soot, the priests would know he had not pulled the donkey tail out of fear of being revealed a thief.” I love the simple truth of that illustration. The innocent walked in and pulled the donkey’s tail with all confidence. When you live life by God’s revealed truth and act in faith your story is securely in God’s sovereign hands, you rest well and walk confidently. When you live a life of deception and dishonesty you are restless, guilt ridden, and wearied by guarding your backstory. God has called us to be salt and light. We are to live lives that are open and clear eyed. Too often, when darkness invades our spirit, we have trouble even looking others squarely in the eyes. Today, confess what is necessary and move forward in bold assurance of your heavenly Father’s power and glory. #BeTheEdge
