I watched an NFL game the other day where a player kept getting in heated exchanges with coaches on the sideline. Before the game ended he was sent to the locker room by the head coach. This player was a star on the team but the coach was not interested in a disrupter being on his sideline. Shortly after the game I read that regardless of his talent the team traded him for future draft choices. Billy Arcement wrote an article back in 2017 for Bizjournals. In it he stated, “Be aware of your leadership environment. Look for the good, but never forget the activities that lurk in the shadows. They eat away at the effectiveness and success potential of the team. One bad team member can screw up the entire team effort. Some of you have lived this nightmare. Keep abreast of this idea as you run your team. Be constant in your assessment of team member actions. You need to know if their action helps or hurts the team.” Exactly. Solomon is certainly speaking much larger than just business and athletics. He was talking about the kings court and even the entire community. God did not create us to all agree but he certainly intends for us to love, be kind to and look out for one another. Today be a team player and a contributor who values others first. #BeTheEdge
