Proverbs 23:10 NIV

This close to Father’s Day it seems appropriate to take a look at Gods relationship to the fatherless. Many of the teenagers I’ve worked with over the years have grown up without a father in the house. In most cases it is obvious when a young man or woman has grown up without a dad. Another consistent, positive, male figure in a young persons life can have a huge positive impact on a child’s development. However, nothing can fill the role that God designed for a father. Their is a reason the Trinity has God the Father as the first person. This particular verse by Solomon cautions against taking anything other then the high view of the fatherless. No child has decided to be fatherless. They are the recipients of an untimely death or someone else’s poor choices. God declares His special care and protection for these victims. He cautions against what is in store for those who would take advantage of the fatherless. Today see the fathers heart in your Heavenly Father and reflect it. #BeTheEdge
