Proverbs 23:4 NASB

I had an interesting conversation with the distributor of our documentary “Love Goes Public,” yesterday. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch it on Amazon (shameless plug). I have recently been in contact with the leader of a national ministry in The Gambia, Africa. They have the ability to show the film to over 5000 teenagers who are 95% Muslim and then share the gospel at the end. It is an amazing opportunity.  However, we realize that financial responsibility constrains us of from doing that. I need to raise about $25k to enable them this opportunity. The interesting moment in the conversation with our distributor came when we agreed that it would be nice to give it for free. You see, I know we live in a world of mortgages, utility bills, investor expectations, etc.  There will always be a tension in some people (even Christians) to work diligently to earn a living while pushing all limits to build extravagant wealth. I have no idea where the balance is other than I’m sure it varies for everyone. Like everything, and I mean everything, in the believer’s life this must be Spirit led. God knows His plan for your story in every area, including finances. Yesterday, I also sat with a young businessman while he consulted with three experienced and successful “The Edge” leaders. They were discussing the things to consider as he pondered his work future. Finally, yesterday, I was ending a conversation with a new friend who then prayed God would bless me and my family financially. That got an amen. Jesus spoke more about money than He did about love. He knew the importance of having a healthy attitude about money and the dangers of an unhealthy one. Today, take a look at your story and be sure your walk with Jesus instructs your attitude about wealth rather than the other way around. #BeTheEdge
