Proverbs 23:5 NASB

“Chase the vision, not the money.” (Tony Hsieh) When I was 15 and taking driver’s ed, I was intrigued by the idea that I was not to look at the sides of the road to keep in my lane as I drove but that I was to set my sight down the road ahead. Of course, that seems pretty natural now. Eyes on the correct goal is critical to a life well lived. If your goal is money, power, success, popularity or any number of other things that are not eternal, you will eternally regret your journey. God’s call on our life is clear. First and foremost, it is love God and love others. What we do to live out that vision is everything else. If we hold true to those two, we will see God’s call and gifting on our life fulfilled to the maximum. We will walk through fire and not be discouraged. We will live with quiet confidence and others will desire to travel with us through the opportunities and challenges of the day. Setting our goal on what is eternal makes even the smallest task on our path infinitely satisfying and rewarding. Following anything else ultimately makes every task and accolade unsatisfying and leaves a bad taste in our mouth. Today, review your calling in light of those two goals, and walk boldly with God. #BeTheEdge

“And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself….'”Jesus (Matthew 22:37-40a NASB)
