Proverbs 24:11 NASB

This is a tough verse in a lot of ways. It certainly applies to being willing to take an unpopular stand, at times. Imagine Esther and how standing for The Jewish nation before the king could have cost her life. Maybe a more recent version of that story is how two teenage girls stood up against the Nazis and fought to save the Jewish nation during World War ll. There are many examples both biblically and historically which show brave individuals and groups taking unpopular and even dangerous stands on behalf of the innocent. But this verse also denotes working to protect those who, by their own choices, are headed toward destruction. We are to do all we can to intervene in their story as well. Talk about difficult. It also instructs us to step in on behalf of the lost – those who need to hear the Gospel. This is not a simple request made by Solomon. It is a plea from our Creator God, ‘Oh hold them back.’ Today, look to those on a road to destruction and respond in the way God leads. #BeTheEdge
